Services for Jimmy C. Couey, age 78, of Dublin, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 2, 2019, in the chapel of Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. Rev.

Steve Hamrick will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Mr. Couey died Thursday, February 28, 2019.

Mr. Couey, a retired independent truck driver, was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church and Buck Creek Stag Club. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Couey was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo and Ollie Pearl Frost Couey; brothers, Randall Couey and Billy Couey; and sister, Betty Couey Haggard. Survivors include his wife, Jacquelyn Payne Couey, of Dublin; children, Donna (David) Beagle, of Edgefield, SC, Clint Couey, of Fort Valley, Tina (Dean) Bennett, of Ellaville; grandchildren, Shari Musser, Angela Selman, Alexy Starling, Cullen Couey, Kimberly McKinney, Taylor Bennett; six great grandchildren; sisters, Martha Artis, of Pensacola, FL, Mary Sue Ward, of Adel, Melinda Dulmadge, of Dublin; brother, Mike Couey, of Dublin. Clint Couey, Cullen Couey, Curt Starling, David Beagle, Dean Bennett, and Josh McKinney will serve as pallbearers.

The Buck Creek Stag Club and John Corley will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will be receiving friends at the home of Jimmy and Jackie Couey. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gideons International, P. O. Box 27, Dublin, GA 31040; American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, or Camp Sunshine, 1850 Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA 30033.
