Jimmy Lee Smith, 64, of Clermont, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta following a year-long battle with AML leukemia. Born in Gainesville, Jimmy spent his entire life in the North Hall community. A gifted and talented tradesman and musician, Jimmy worked over 40 years in the trucking and automotive industries and spent over 25 years as a guitarist for several area gospel groups including The Creations, Rapture, The Chestatee River Quartet, The Chestatee River Boys, and Devotion.

Jimmy spent his life serving others. He loved helping others and would do anything he could to help someone in need. He gave freely and generously of his time, talents, and res.

A storyteller at heart, he enjoyed sharing stories with his friends, family, customers, and anyone who happened to stop by his shop. To know Jimmy was to love Jimmy. His laughter was infectious, his smile was genuine, and his heart was generous.

He loved his family with all of his heart; he cherished his wife, children, and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Annie Wehunt Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberley and Bradley Nash; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Lindsey Smith; granddaughter Harleigh Smith; grandsons Maverick Smith, Graham Nash, and Grady Nash; sisters Gail Gordon and Janet Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Hazel Browning Smith.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 24 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev.

Ken Anderson, Rev. Spencer Anderson, Rev. Kyle Savage, and Rev.

Mark Wheeler will officiate. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family wishes to extend gratitude to the caring and compassionate staff of The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge and the Blood & Marrow Transplant/Leukemia Unit of Northside Hospital Atlanta.
