Obituary for Joan Clemens (Fahey) Joan M. (Fahey) Clemens, born May 11, 1935, died on May 27, 2018 at the age of 83. Mrs. Clemens was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and lived for many years in Dalton and Pittsfield before relocating to Clifton Park, New York with her husband and daughters. As a young woman, Joan was employed at the Boys’ Club of Pittsfield, General Electric Ordinance Division and the Parks Department of Pittsfield.

There, she orchestrated memories in all seasons from Winter Carnivals to summer events in the city parks. Joan’s true devotions were her enduring faith and dedication to family. Friday nights became weekly holidays as the family gathered at “Nana & Poppy’s” for dinner and a visit.

Joan was a fixture in the lives of each of her grandchildren, taking every opportunity to tell them that she loved them and was proud of them. Joan celebrated each family milestone with sincere joy. She was a gracious woman in every sense and generously shared her many gifts.

Joan was predeceased by her parents Fred and Mary Fahey and her husband of 52 years, Richard J. Clemens. She is survived by her daughters Mary K. Blaauboer, her husband Jim and their children James R. and Mary G. Blaauboer; and Ann M. Rocha, her husband Joe and their daughter Emily M. Rocha; all of Clifton Park, New York. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 11:30 AM at St. Edward The Confessor Church, 567 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, NY.

In keeping with Joan’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. For those who wish to participate, the family will gather prior to Mass at 10:30 AM for the recitation of the Rosary. Interment will be private at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.

Mr. and Mrs. Clemens strongly believed in the power of higher education. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family encourages consideration of donations to Shenendehowa Dollars for Scholars (Father Robert Scott Knights of Columbus Council #11064 Scholarship Fund), P.O. Box 4390, Clifton Park, NY 12065 or to The Eddy Village Green Staff Enrichment Fund, 200 Village Green Way, Cohoes, NY, 12047.
