Obituary for Joan Coleman A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point for Joan A. Coleman, 80, who passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. at the The Ellington Nursing Home/Long Term Care Facility in Rayne. Rev. Emmanuel Awe, SSJ, Pastor of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point will be officiating for the services.

Burial will be held in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church New Cemetery Mausoleum in Church Point. The family has requested the visitation to be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 8:00 A.M. until time of services all at the Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point. Survivors include her husband, of sixty four years, Joseph “T-Joe” Coleman of Church Point; seven sons, Joseph Bradley and wife, Sigrid Coleman of Blytheville, SC, John Thaddeus and wife, Heidi Coleman of Houston, TX, Gerald and wife, Vanessa Coleman of Jacksonville, NC, Jude Coleman of Hawaii, Christopher Coleman of Atlanta, GA, Shawn and wife, Naomi Coleman of Melbourne, FL, and Dr. Nathaniel and wife, Dr. Jean Armisha Coleman of Charlotte, NC; five daughters, Honorable Judge Magdeline and husband, Lloyd Wing, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA, Myra Coleman-Gibbs of Church Point, Melonie and husband, Paul Richard of Baton Rouge, Maria Consolotta and husband, Gerard Broussard of Church Point and Dr. Margeaux and husband, Thomas Walker, Jr. of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Vincent Ray Arceneaux and Joseph Arceneaux both of Beaumont, TX; two sisters, Gloria Babineaux of Church Point and Ruby Sharlow of Sunset; twenty six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and several extended family members.

Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Leona Arceneaux; one sister, Mary Lou Johnson; her father-in-law, Earl Coleman and her step father and mother-in-law, John and Pearly Charlot.
