Joan Louise Steinke December 30, 1927 – July 27, 2018 Joan Louise Steinke, 90, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at 2:45 pm in Trail Creek Place, Michigan City, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana with Nate Loucks officiating. Private family burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana.

Visitation hours will be Wednesday from 10:00 am till the time of service in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel. She was born December 30, 1927 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Nicholas and Cora (Janasiak) Oshinski. On December 5, 1947 in Michigan City, Indiana she married Richard Steinke who preceded April 9, 1992.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda (Tony) Pavlak and Patti (James) “Digger” Coleman both of Michigan City, Indiana; son, Garry Steinke of Fishers, Indiana; five grandchildren, Adam (Kealan) Pavlak of Wichita, Kansas, Kristen (TJ) Reed of Westfield, Indiana, Jenna Schultz of Indianapolis, Indiana, Geoff (Sarah) Steinke of Fishers, Indiana and Allison Steinke of Indianapolis, Indiana; six great-grandchildren, Declan and Harlan Pavlak, Scarlett Jo and Vincent Reed, Annelise and Anjali Steinke; sister-in-law, Bette Wedow of Michigan City, Indiana; She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Stephanie Schultz and Jacob Pavlak; Mrs. Steinke was a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother who was always ready to do anything for anyone. She had previously worked as a bookkeeper for Miller Tax Service, Horizon Bank and Joe Phillips Airport. She was a former member of the women of the moose and the Firefly Auxiliary.
