George J. Grattenthaler, III March 28, 1956 – September 27, 2018 George J. Grattenthaler, III, 62, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 10:10 am in his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave. , Michigan City, IN with Rev.

Kevin Huber officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Monday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN and from 9:30 am – 10:00 am Tuesday in the Queen of All Saints Legacy Center.

He was born March 28, 1956 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late George J. and Marcia (DeLacy) Grattenthaler, Jr. On May 16, 1992 in Michigan City, IN he married Susan Lisak who survives in Michigan City, IN. Also surviving are his son, George J. Grattenthaler, IV of Michigan City, IN; two sisters, Gail Cains and Annette (John) Jones, both of Michigan City, IN; and several nieces and nephews. George had worked as a greeter at Meijer and was the former owner of George’s Tavern.

He was an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan. George enjoyed music and talking to people. Contributions may be made to Donor’s Choice.
