Roger L. Volk October 2, 1950 – July 22, 2018 Roger L. Volk, 67, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 6:00 am in the home he built. Funeral services will be held at 6:30 pm, Friday, July 27, 2018 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Rev. Kevin Huber officiating.

Private burial will take place. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm – 6:30 pm, Friday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel. He was born October 2, 1950 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late James and Evelyn (Hagle) Volk.

On August 9, 1997 in Michigan City, IN he married Diane Thorp who survives in Michigan City, IN. Also surviving are two Daughters, Gretchen (Bill) Quirk of Indianapolis, IN and Rachel Volk of Valparaiso, IN; step-daughter, Rachel Hroma of Michigan City, IN; three grandchildren, Charis Quirk, Leo Quirk and Sidney Johnson; sister, Lorraine Barr of LaPorte, IN; niece, Aime Matotte of Michigan City, IN; and his nephew, Damon Matotte of Michigan City, IN. He retired as an engineer at ALCOA Casting, LaPorte IN was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam.

Roger was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the V.F.W. #2536.
