Joann’s Obituary Joann Margaret Pehrson, age 87, of Mankato, died Friday, May 24, 2019, surrounded by family, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato. Memorial Mass will be held at 10am, Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Good Thunder with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Good Thunder.

She graduated from Loyola High School. On September 5, 1950, Joann was united in marriage to George Pehrson. They owned and operated Southview County Club in Mankato for many years.

She finished her career at Bobby Jo’s Restaurant and Bar in North Mankato. She was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. In her spare time, Joann enjoyed golfing, crossword puzzles, making homemade schnapps and jams, traveling up north, and enjoying time with her family and grandchildren.

Joann is survived by her sons, David (Casey) Pehrson of Kasota and Tim (Mary) Pehrson of Grand Rapids, MN; former daughter-in-law, Jenny Pehrson; grandchildren, Levi, Lacey (Ben), Brittany, Shane, Joe, Shawn (Jessica), Joanna (Daren) and Lewis (Kristine); 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lois Johnson, Jack FitzSimmons, Margie Root, Richard (Lenny) FitzSimmons, Bill (Sandy) FitzSimmons, Karen O’Rourke, and Jim (Sharon) FitzSimmons; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; son, Michael; aunt, Evelyn Lewis; brother, Francis; sisters, Marylou, Jean and Kathryn.
