Joann Jones Carpenter (“Mimi”) has entered into eternal life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 26, 2019, a few days short of her 88th birthday. She lived her life in Louisville, Kentucky graduating from Sacred Heart Academy in 1949 and attending the University of Louisville. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, as well as a committed caregiver to her dogs, Lily and Annie.

Her interests included bridge, needlework, golf and travelling with her husband. Joann was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ray, her son Michael; her son-in-law David; and Louis and Marie Jones, her parents. Survivors include her sons William (Coleen); Gary (Bev); her daughter Patti; her daughter-in-law Tammy; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; her beloved big brother Bob Jones (Doris); and, her many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 4th from 10:00AM to 12:00PM with a memorial service at 1:00 PM at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville, KY 40243. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to express its deep gratitude to the entire medical and care personnel whose love and compassion helped Joann remain comfortable in her final days.

The family requests that memorial gifts be given to Hosparus of Louisville and/or Grandview Care ImpactLife Fund (Benevolence Fund for Employees) in care of Magnolia Springs East in Louisville.
