Joanne D. Fischer April 21, 1937 – December 20, 2018 Joanne D. Fischer, age 81, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Thursday, December 20, 2018 in Pleasant Hill, MO. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 5, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Wiscosnin Rapids, WI. Fr.
Valentine Joseph will officiate. Visitation will be at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday and Saturday at the Church from 9:00-10:00 AM. Entombment in Forest Hill Mausoleum.
Joanne was born April 21, 1937 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Edward and Doris (Becker) Walters. She married Arthur Fischer on June 25, 1960 and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2008. She then married Alvin Bogdanski in August 2013.
Joanne was employed at Consolidated Papers Inc as a printing press operator for 21 years retiring in 2001. Born: April 21, 1937 Death: December 20, 2018 Joanne was a member of the Red Hat Organization of Wisconsin Rapids, played the accordion recently in the Honeybee Group where she entertained residents of nursing homes with her music. Joanne enjoyed singing, playing piano and accordion, traveling, spending time with her family and loved her cats.
Mom was devoted to her faith and loved her Lord and Savior. She loved singing in the Choir and playing piano and organ for St. Mary’s Church. She was musically talented and grew up playing many instruments.
She played the accordion in a polka band for many years entertaining everyone she met. Mom’s joy was in making others happy. Joanne is survived by her husband Alvin Bogdanski; two daughters, Dawn (Bill) Copelin of Pleasant Hill, MO and Debra (Jeff) Blake of Avon, IN; four sons, Doug Fischer of Waupun, WI, Dan Fischer of Jackson, WI, Dale (Jessica) Fischer of Kyle, TX and David (Cheryl) Fischer of West Bend, WI; 16 grandchildren, Nicole, Jimmy, Stephanie Rae, Tiffany, Colleen Lynn, Sean, Taylor, Brittany, Timmy, Jenna, Kayla, Stephanie Jean, Gregg, Dougie and Crystal; 11 great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Peter, Grace, Jack, Mylah, Nevaeh, Brooklyn, Laeni Jae, Koda, Kenzie and Carson; and one sister, Barbara (Bruce) Anderson of Mukwonago, WI.
Joanne was preceded in death by parents; her first husband, Arthur, brother, Edward Walters Jr. and grandson, Michael J. Fischer. Special thanks to Pleasant Hill Health & Rehab Facility, especially Tammy and Sharon, for all your wonderful care of Mom. Special thanks also to St. Luke’s Hospice House and those who cared for her in her final hours.
Memorials in Joanne’s name can be designated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
