Joanne L. Vite March 02, 1936 – March 27, 2019 Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Joann L. Vite 1936-2019 Joann Vite, 83, of Kenosha passed away on Wednesday March 27, 2019 at Grande Prairie Health & Rehab in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Joann was born on March 2, 1936 in Kenosha, WI the daughter of the late Lawrence & Helen (Marx) Leitzen. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha and at the Milwaukee School of Nursing.

She married Lester “Tom” Vite in 1955. Joann was a Nurse in both Kenosha hospitals and various nursing homes including St Joseph’s Home and found great fulfillment in all of them caring for others. She loved great literature and poetry and would quote from memory to the end of her life lengthy passages from Shakespeare, Donne, Chekov, Poe, Wilde and myriad others with astonishing wit and beauty.

She also loved classical and country music, gardening, cooking, PBS and politics. Survivors include her children, Thomas (Kathleen) Vite of Oconomowoc, WI, Kathryn (Joseph) Vite-Hazelton, Jeffrey (Nancy) Vite, and Rose Vite all of Kenosha; sisters, Arlene DeRose of Kenosha, Janet Kugler of FL; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. Joann was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Leitzen and her beloved daughters, Deborah Vite and Jennifer Vite.

Her family would like to especially thank her Community Care Family Care team, Steve Klopstein, Amy Puidokas, Kelly Tumeo, and caregivers Chanel and Russell Nelson for their warmth, kindness, care & support over the years to help her live her best life on her own terms.
