JoAnn Popp Mitchell, 77, of Alvaton, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Alleen Popp. JoAnn was born in Georgetown, KY on February 11, 1941.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard D. Mitchell. JoAnn was retired from Western Kentucky University and was a member of the Three Springs Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter Donna Jo Higdon (Terry) and a son, Jeffrey Alan Mitchell, three sisters, Sue Stone (Bowman), Linda Roberts and Charlene Etherington, granddaughter, Danielle Marie Lindsey (Rodney), grandson, Tyler Mitchell Higdon, a great granddaughter, Addison Marie Lindsey.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with burial to follow in Bowling Green Gardens.
