Obituary for Joe G. Poole Joe G. Poole Lakeland – Joe G. Poole was the most loving Husband, Daddy, Papa and Papa Poole. He loved and served God, his family, and country well. He did his best to be a “good, good boy” and said that it didn’t work out sometimes, although, he did always try.
He was the self proclaimed “Great American”. He was a smart guy and a hard worker who could fix just about anything. His special and most entertaining talent was talking in the voice of Donald Duck.
His reading of “The Night Before Christmas” was a holiday tradition for decades and every child in his life adored him for it. This man never met a stranger. He was stubborn, opinionated, outspoken, demanding, funny, kind, loving, giving, dependable, trustworthy, thoughtful, loyal, and always concerned with the details of his loved ones’ lives.
He was definitely the head of our family. He leaves a huge void that no other can fill. We will strive daily to carry on his legacy by glorifying God in all that we do.
Joe was married to Ann E. Watts Poole on December 19, 1958. She went home before him on March 29, 2004 and he joined her on November 12, 2018 where they are now together once more. He was born in Elfers, Florida on December 19, 1938 and was preceded in death by his parents: Broward & Myrtis Poole and two brothers: James and Bobby.
He is survived by two brothers: Francis (Frankie Boy) and Stanley; Four daughters: Cheryl & Alan, Teresa & Dale, Dawn & Danny, and Angelia & Michael; Twenty-five grandkids: Crystal & Dan, Britney & Gabe, Heath & Athena, Jessica & Ryan, Kelley & Jim, Little Joe, Michelle & Andrew, Nicole & Alex, Jedidiah & Brittany, Zachary, Victoria & Cody, Dalton, Austin, Logan, Laura Ann, and Lacie; Twelve great-grands: Walker, Kamp, Natalie, Dallas, Kelen, Quinten, Memphis, Ryder, Phoenix, Delaney, Annabelle and Jackson. Two great-grands preceded papa to heaven: Deacon (20) and Garrett (18). There are not enough words to say how much we miss him.
We are grateful for our memories that will help us to make it through the days and we have promises from our heavenly Father that we will see our Great American again. So, until that glorious day… 243. Visitation will be Fri.
