Joe Gene Irwin, 66, of Duncan, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at Waurika Lake near Hastings, Oklahoma. He was born March 15, 1952, in Sulphur to Sherman Henry Jr. and Sarah Elizabeth (Talley) Irwin. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, October 19, at 2:00 P.M. in the Marlow Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home. Joe graduated from Duncan High School in 1970. He started working for Jim Markle during high school and later worked for Dub Richardson Ford in Oklahoma City.

He was employed by Halliburton as a fracturing/cementing operator. He enjoyed taking care of his lake property at Waurika Lake and building small wooden items in his shop. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Joshua Irwin and Jillian and husband Jared Williams; and his grandchildren, Haley and Jake Irwin, and Jackson, Jocelyn, and Jasper Williams. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harold Leon and Richard Irwin. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.
