Obituary for Joe Newood Joseph Newood, age 70, of Huntington Woods, passed away September 3, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 2, 1948 in Detroit to the late Joseph and Wanda Newood. Loving husband of Betty for 45 years; dear father of Kyle (Sarah) Newood; and best friend of “Pudge” the family’s beloved pug.

Also survived by his sisters, Diane (Bruce) Szubuda and Kathleen (Steve) Panczyszyn, and many nieces and nephews. Joe was a construction project manager for Cunningham Limp Development for 28 years and was very involved with Michigan Amateur Hockey Association serving District 3, as well as a longtime Berkley Michigan hockey coach and baseball coach. An avid U of M sports fan, Joe also loved to golf and play hockey in his spare time.

Joe was a husband, father, new father-in-law, uncle and teacher ~ He will be missed by all. Visitation Saturday 9:30 am until the time of service 12 noon at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road (4 blocks E of Woodward), Royal Oak, MI 48067.
