Joel P. Hubbs, 81, of Carbon Cliff, Illinois passed away February 3, 2019 at his home. Funeral services will be 6:00 pm Wednesday, February 13th at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis with visitation 2 hours prior to service time. Entombment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Moline.

Joel was born June 10, 1937 in Moline, IL the son of John and Georgina Bonte Hubbs. He was a teacher at Rockridge High School in the 1970’s and retired from WHBF News in Rock Island as the floor director and manager of the nightly news. He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in East Moline.

Survivors include his sisters Jeanne Koch of California, Jeri Wells of East Moline and Jena Lewis of Indiana. Joel was preceded in death by his parents and brothers John and James Hubbs. ONLINE CONDOLENCES MAY BE MADE AT WWW.
