Obituary for John Charles Schultz Sr. John Charles Schultz, Sr. was born on January 25, 1953, to Ruth Agnes Borden and Robert Earl Schultz, Sr. In the years to come, his ability to see the humor in almost any situation, and to make people laugh would get him out of many minor and major scrapes and help to create enduring relationships with those around him. He died on a beautiful Sunday morning, having given everything he had to fight anal melanoma. John loved his work in graphic arts and was extremely talented at creating solutions to difficult problems.

He prided himself on his extreme attention to detail, dedicated work and the ability to talk to anyone in order to achieve the best possible results. He made many friends and enjoyed getting to know many different people during his career. John’s 7 children are his pride and joy.

He willingly and happily made great sacrifices in order to ensure for their safety and well being, especially when they were young. His love for them knows no bounds. He is proud of the wonderful adults they have become.

He loves his 14 grandchildren very much and enjoyed spending time with them. After joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many capacities, including bishoprics, stake high council, young mens, high priest group leader and early morning seminary. He has a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and always tried to exhibit that by service, love and forgiveness to those around him.

He tried every day to live a life that followed Jesus’ example. He loves his Heavenly Father, knowing this is the most important relationship he can have. Without that, nothing else can successfully come to fruition.

He knows his Savior and loves him dearly. Every day he thanked God for his challenges as well as his blessings, and always started his prayers, no matter what was going on in his life with “Father, I love thee”. He has complete trust in the plan that his Heavenly Father has for him.

On February 4 of this year, he took his sweetheart and wife, Elizabeth Smith, of 1 year and 3 months to the temple to be sealed for time and eternity. They both know they will see each other again and will work diligently until then to assist, love and support their children’s efforts to be happy and successful and to share the gospel of Christ. John will be missed by those around him, especially by his family and close friends.

He is survived by John Schultz, Jr. (Cecil), Jen Clayton (Shane), Samantha Love (Adam), Adam Schultz (Jennifer), Mark Schultz (Whitney), Ian Schultz and Madeleine Smith (Adam Rosenberg).
