Mr. John David Lapish Jr., 76, better known as “Buddy”, entered his heavenly home Wednesday, March 20, 2019. He was born May 12, 1942 in Forsyth County to the late John David Lapish Sr. and Ruby Lash Lapish. Buddy proudly served 8 years in the Army National Guard.

He retired from R. J. Reynolds with 30 years of service. Buddy was a faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church for 55 years, where he was in the Watchmen’s Class, served with the Bus Ministry, and taught a Junior’s Sunday School Class. He enjoyed restoring hot rods and was a former member of Shades of the Past Car Club.

Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Nancy Marsh Lapish; daughter, Kimberly Lapish Spaeth and husband Marc of King; granddaughter, Britney Spaeth of Hickory; two sisters, Barbara Lapish Williams (Howard) and Betty Lapish Reavis; and beloved extended family. A funeral service will be conducted 6:00 pm Friday, March 22, at Woodland Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Gammons officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, March 23, at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Woodland Baptist Church, 1175 Bethania-Rural Hall Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
