OBITUARY John David Parker III August 7, 1950 – September 6, 2018 John David Parker, 68, of New Bern, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018. John was born on August 7, 1950 in Washington, DC. He served with the brown river Coast Guard in Vietnam.

John worked for the government for 35 years as an HVAC mechanic. He was also a dedicated volunteer fireman and rose to the rank of chief. He never missed an opportunity to tell his children and grandchildren how proud he was of them.

He is preceded is death by his parents, John David Parker II and Jeanette Dettloff Parker; brother, Gregory Parker; and sister, Barbara Parker. John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathryn Henck Parker; three children, Corey David Parker, Adrienne Elizabeth Parker, and Jennifer Alexandra Parker; and four grandchildren, Lauren, Erin, John, and Jose Pelayo. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John’s name may be made to his two great interests: a volunteer fire department or a veteran’s organization.
