Freihaut, 72, of Unionville, MO, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at University Hospital in Columbia. He was born on August 29, 1947 in St. Louis to Peter M. and Clara Rose (Gildehaus) Freihaut. John was blessed with three siblings: Peter, Patricia and Sarita.

Fishing in his bass boat and hunting were some of his pastimes. He also enjoyed going to the St. Louis Zoo, watching the Cardinals and going to Florida during the winter months. John served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era.

He graduated from Mizzou and worked as a CPA for most of his adult life. He was a loyal friend and was supportive of his community. John had a special chocolate lab named “Mr. Jack” that would go everywhere with him.

He was a kind and gentle man who will be greatly missed and long remembered by all those who loved him. Surviving are his two siblings: Peter and wife Carol Freihaut of St.Louis, Sarita and husband Mike Weldon of Herculaneum; brother-in-law, Art Repovich of St.Peters; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-niec;e, other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Repovich.
