John Edmon Peters was born on April 29, 1947, in Atkins, Arkansas. He transitioned to eternity on November 14, 2018, in Dallas, Texas, at age 71. John attended King City High School in Northern California.

He served his country in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. A Silver Star recipient, John went on to enjoy a longtime career of 26 years with Pacific Reliance in Milpitas, California, where he was a certified master welder and built electric transformers. Affectionately regarded as “PaPa”, John was an avid Oakland Raiders fan and BBQ champion.

He also enjoyed camping and being a part of the “Garage Time Gang”. His garage was the neighborhood hub for all to gather for good television, conversation, and laughter. His dearest loves were his family and his dog, PJ.

He was predeceased by his dear wife, Peggy Peters; brother, Wayne Peters; and son, Kevin Garcia. Those left to cherish precious memories include his daughter, Cherri Ligon and her husband, Brian; daughter, Patti Andrews and her husband, Craig; grandchildren: Melissa, Joshua, Eric, and Zachary; great-grandchildren: Marco, Sage, Maisie, and Wade; mother, Elizabeth Hamblin; brother, Earl Peters; brother, Joe Peters and his wife, Frannie; and dog, PJ.
