Erickson John’s wishes were to be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held to celebrate his life at a later date in Montana. Memorials may be directed in care of the family. John Michael Erickson was born December 27, 1945 in Havre, Montana to Delbert and Rosalee (Haskins) Erickson, the 3rd of eight children and passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at his home in Exeter at the age of 73.

As a young boy he attended school in MT, graduating with the class of 1963 from Hellgate High School in Missoula, MT. John furthered his education by learning the process of solar energy installations and for a time worked for his brother’s solar installation company. John then earned his CDL and he enjoyed driving a truck over-the-road for several trucking companies for more than 20 years, retiring from Anco Trucking Company in Exeter.

John was united in marriage to Jean Lawson on August 31, 1984 in Sioux Falls, SD and together they made their home in Montana, Oregon, Texas, moving to Nebraska in 1989 and made their home in Exeter. In his spare time, he enjoyed going fishing, hunting and especially keeping his hands busy “junking”. John was a strong, loving and witty gentleman with a strong sense of humor, lovingly called “Pops” by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Jean, Exeter, his sons and daughters-in-law, John and Libby Erickson, Polson, MT, Jayson and Ann Erickson, Ronan, MT, Jared and Tracey Erickson, of Washington, step-children and spouses, Candice and Wynn Hall, Exeter, Tim and Cassey Andersen, Stromsburg, Michael and Sara Beth Schwab, Eldon, MO, Christina and Chris Fulk, Lincoln, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sisters, Marie Cherast, Missoula, MT, Mavis Repnak, Ronan, MT, Terry L. Conner, Missoula, MT, brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Sandy Erickson, Dwayne Erickson, Delbert Erickson, Dan and Deb Erickson, all of Missoula, MT, brother-in-law, William Lawson, Lincoln, several nieces, nephew and a host of other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marlene, great-grandson, Blaze Reamy, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
