John Erickson, 84, Two Harbors, died Sunday, March 10, 2019 at his home with his family at his side after a long illness. Fox was born March 21, 1934 to John Erickson and Margaret Welch Erickson in Duluth and lived in Two Harbors for most of his life. After graduating from Two Harbors High School in 1952, Fox served in the Army.

He was employed by the DM&IR Railroad for many years in a variety of positions. Fox married Ruth Lindholm in 1967. John was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the Lakeview Men’s Golf Club, Two Harbors Curling Club, and the American Legion.

He was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels for many years and a past member of the City Council. He enjoyed golf and curling. Fox was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Peggy Kubiszewski and Mary Sue Fisher.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Cathy Erickson of Two Harbors; a son John (Kimberly) Erickson of Eden Prairie; and 3 grandchildren, Cecelia, Samantha, and John Patrick “Jack”. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until the 1 PM Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Two Harbors. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
