OBITUARY John Grant Allen III February 28, 1951 – July 19, 2018 John was born in Jackson, Michigan on February 28, 1951 and died suddenly in Lansing, Michigan on July 19, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Janette Allen and sister, Stephanie. John graduated from Parkside High School and Jackson Community College.

He also was a graduate of Michigan State University with a BA in Communications. John attended MSU football games for almost 40 years before giving up his tickets. John also enjoyed golf.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marilyn; several cousins, Robert (Nancy) Mosher, Chris (Mike) Olds, Diane, Charlene, Robin, Kim, Rick, Wendy and Debbie; sister-in-law, JoAnn (John) Chaimson and several other family members. John was active in Kiwanis. He was the past president of the South Lansing Club and currently the Lieutenant Governor of Division 16.

John was a real estate associate broker with Real Estate One in Holt. He previously was employed in the insurance field. Please join the family for a visitation on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 11 a.m. to Noon at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes East Lansing Chapel,1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, Michigan.

A funeral service for John will begin at Noon, also at the funeral home. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.
