John J. Kelly February 07, 1955 – February 19, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Memorial Donation John Kelly, 64, of Indianapolis passed away on February 19, 2019. He was born on February 7, 1955, the son of John and Virginia Kelly. John worked as a safety instructor for Rolls Royce for 30 years before retiring.

His friends and family fondly remember him as being an adrenaline junkie who loved being outdoors every chance he could. He was a proud Harley-Davidson owner and enjoyed riding whenever he could. He loved to go snowmobiling and even drag raced snowmobiles at Indianapolis Raceway Park, and he loved to go barefoot and slalom waterskiing.

John was also a gun enthusiast and a longtime member of the Marion County Fish and Game Association. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia Kelly; brother-in-law, Ralph Schuch; and wife, Kim Kelly. Survivors include his siblings, Mike (Debbie) Kelly, Jim (Anita) Kelly, and Nancy Schuch; nieces and nephews, Michael (Adam) Kelly-Kahle, Joe (Anna) Kelly, Megan (Alex) Miller, and Erin (Ryan) Mitchell; great nieces and nephews, Elise, Mikey, Evan, Declan, and Levi; and good friends, Davey Yates and Danny Harvey.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to John’s neighbor, Laura Yorger, for the special care she provided to John and to the Speedway Police and Fire Departments for going above and beyond in their duty to care for John and his wife Kim over the past few years. Please consider making a donation in John’s memory to either the Speedway Fire Department or the Speedway Animal Rescue.
