Obituary for John J. LaBarbera LaBarbera, John J., age 88, of Tampa passed away July 1, 2018. A native and lifelong resident of Tampa he was a retired Detective Sargent with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, a former Director with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa, and active in other youth and community services. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years: Betty Jo LaBarbera; daughter: Joanna Thompson (Dave); son: Joe LaBarbera (Kay); and grandchildren: Brian, Timothy and Christiana LaBarbera, Lauren Thompson, and Elayna Simonds.

The Family will receive friends Thursday July 5, 2018 from 6 to 8 PM, With funeral services Friday July 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Boza and Roel Funeral Home.
