John “Jack” Barry , 88, passed away on March 17, 2019 at home. Jack was born on his mother’s birthday, July 27, 1930 in Pottsville, PA to Vincent and Elsie (Foster) Barry. After service as a Chief Radioman in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War he graduated from Penn State University.

He worked for the U.S. Government for 27 yrs retiring as Officer in Charge of the Midwest Region, Interstate Commerce Commission. Survivors include his wife, Joan; daughter, Janice and partner Stephen Lohe; son, Richard “Rick” and wife, Lori; granddaughters: Gabrielle and Lauren; cousin, Beverly Wohlbach and husband, Harry; and many more family members. Jack will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held at Longview Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12700 SE Raytown Rd, Kansas City, MO 64149 on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 11am, with a visitation beginning at 10am.

Inurnment will follow at Longview Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Shriners Children’s Hospital or a favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
