Roger Navran, 89, the youngest of 6 children born to Harry and Jennie Navran, passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of March 16, 2019. Roger was a life-long resident of the metro Kansas City area. Roger graduated from Southwest High School before joining the downtown family business, Midwest Envelope Company, where he shared responsibilities for operating the business with his brothers.

When competitive pressures forced the close of the business, Roger held positions throughout the remainder of his career at the 7-Up Company, Check Rite and H&R Block. Roger married Roseanne Rosenberg (of Chicago) and together they had 3 children. Roger’s primary interests included music, dogs and the investment markets.

Roger’s long-time trusted companion, Toby, was always nearby. In addition to dogs, Roger enjoyed horses and horseback riding in his younger days and was a frequent donator to several animal related causes. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Ralph and Richard Navran; sisters: Marian Grossman and Jean Oppenheim, and son, Fredrick Navran.

Roger is survived by his brother, Robert Navran; son, Lawrence Navran and wife Cynthia; daughter, Nancy Kathan and husband Doug; daughter-in-law, Janice Navran and 6 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Rose Hill Cemetery, 6900 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64131. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Roger’s name are suggested to Wayside Waifs.

The family would like to extend their thanks and sincere gratitude to all the caregivers that have taken such great care of Roger over the last few years.
