John Malena, July 01, 1960 — March 14, 2019

John J. Malena, age 58, of Raymore, MO passed into the Eternal arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, March 14th, 2019. John was born in Kansas City, MO on July 1st, 1960 to first time parents Joseph and Rosemary. He attended Saint Catherine’s, O’Hara High School, and DeVry School of Technology (with honors).

John is the oldest of 9 children, and dearly loved all of his siblings. He wore many hats thru the years, and besides his infamous conductor hat, his favorite was being a Dad and Grandpa. John was a paramedic, health care technician, software programmer, lawn care salesman, and one heck of a salsa maker.

He was a dedicated Boy Scout who rose to the level of Eagle Scout, and was a runner of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. John attended church at Abundant Life in Lee’s Summit, MO, where he was known and beloved by many of the church staff. Visitation and funeral services will be held Thursday, March 21st, 2019 at Abundant Life, Administration Building, 414 SW Persels Rd, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081.

Visitation will be from 10am-11am and the funeral will start at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John’s name to Abundant Life. John is survived by parents, Joseph and Rosemary Malena, siblings Michael Malena(Rita), Patricia Patterson(Greg), Jeanne Edmonds(Mike Carter), Mary Alvarado(Hector), Joseph P. Malena, Thomas Malena(Amanda), Kathleen Malena, Timothy Malena, son Dominic Malena(Rachel), daughter Francesca Jones(Luke), granddaughter Alexandra Malena, grandsons Braxton Malena, Jase Jones, another grandchild on way, and several nieces and nephews.
