Obituary for John “Jack” F. Sullivan Hampton – John F. “Jack” Sullivan, 96, died peacefully, Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Brookdale Spruce Wood in Durham. He was born in Somerville, MA July 17, 1922, the son of the late Eugene P. and Margaret T. (Herlihy) Sullivan. He was a 1941 graduate of Somerville High School and a 1945 graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York.

Mr. Sullivan had also resided in Cambridge, MA and Needham, MA before moving to Hampton in 1998 where he had summered most of his adulthood. He was a veteran of WWII, serving as a Lieutenant junior grade with the US Navy. Mr. Sullivan worked many years in the sporting apparel industry and was a sales representative for the H.W. Carter & Sons Company of Lebanon, NH for 14 years and Profile Sports for 16 years, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of the New England Ski Representatives Association, a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish and a member of its Holy Name Society. He was the husband of the late Evelyn J. (Dewire) Sullivan who predeceased him in 2017. Family members include three sons, Mark F. Sullivan and his wife Michelle of Dover, NH, Peter J. Sullivan, and his wife Susan of Worcester, MA, and Michael D. Sullivan and his wife Kimberley of Hopkinton, MA; eight grandchildren, Bridget, Beth and Jacob, Eric, Owen, Cole, Amanda and Shaun, many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 P.M. Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Monday, November 12, 2018 in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton. Burial will follow in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton.
