John N. Poteet, 96, of Boardman, died Sunday evening July 22, 2018 at the Inn at Walker Mill in Boardman. He was born July 9, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio, son of William Elizabeth (Houy) Poteet and was a lifelong area resident. John was a 1940 graduate of Boardman High School and had worked as a Postal Clerk for United States Postal Service.

He was a veteran of World War Two serving in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Boardman. His wife, the former Jayne McKinley is deceased.

He leaves a nephew, William Frolund of Boardman. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Poteet, and a sister Josephine Frolund. A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday July 26, 2018 at St. Dominic Church in Youngstown.

Friends may call from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
