John Joseph Stanton, Jr., age 92, of New Market, MD, died Monday, November 19, 2018 at the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV. Born January 6, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John Joseph Stanton Sr. and Ida Marie Winters Stanton. He was the husband of Helen B. Stanton, his wife of 69 years.

Mr. Stanton served in the U.S. Navy and was later employed in commercial and residential construction. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 noon Monday, November 26 at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 4103 Prices Distillery Rd.

Military interment will take place at a later date in the Washington National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
