John Karl Serrahn, 71 of Green Bay, passed on to his eternal life on Thurs. Aug. 30, 2018, with loved ones by his side.

He was born Dec. 9, 1946 in Algoma to Karl and Julia (Wichlacz) Serrahn. After John graduated from high school he joined the Army Reserves and was stationed at Fort Ord, CA.

, where he became a drill sergeant. He spent time in Milwaukee driving truck for Lapan Electric. Then he worked for Englewood Electric in Green Bay specializing in lighting design.

… Read More » Along with two other partners started his own lighting business, Lakeshore Lighting, Green Bay. He eventually sold the business to Viking Electric. John then retired to enjoy family, grandchildren, music, life and friends.

John loved music and playing his harmonica with his very special friends at Reds Rock’n Shore open mic night, Scotty Cash and the Lower Level 6 band and many other great musicians. John married Patty (Swoboda) Fulwiler at their home on March 17, 2018. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Patty, Green Bay; daughter Renee (Dick) Zimmerman, four grandchildren Macie and Katie, Gabby and Jake, Algoma; mother Julia Serrahn, Algoma; sisters Karen Wolter, Sister Bay and Sandy (Jerry) Mueller, Sheboygan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Chuck (Debbie) Swoboda, Tom (Marcy) Swoboda, Jean (Jeff) Rabas all of Algoma, Lori (Perry) Andre, Casco, and Pete (Jody) Swoboda, Algoma; many very special nieces and nephews and former sister-in-law Micki Swoboda.

John was preceded in death by his father Karl, in-laws Norman and Lila Swoboda, two brothers-in-laws Lloyd Wolter and Joseph Swoboda and one sister-in-law Elizabeth Swoboda. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018 from 8:30 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Algoma, with Rev Joel McKinney and Rev.
