Mr. John Lee Roland, age 63 of Marion, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, December 8, 2018. A native of McDowell county born on June 22, 1955, he was a son of the late Paul Roland and Lola Mae Douthit Roland. Known for his sense of humor, John was an avid music listener who loved hunting and fishing; but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his seven children, Donna Roland (Dennie Flynn), John Deighan (Alyssa), Christy Roland (Matt Hicks), April Bradley, Sarah Cisneros (David), Jennifer Roland Menjivar (Jorge), and Peggy Roland (Caleb Spoon); Three sisters, Wanda Webb, Cheri Byrd (Donnie), and Sue Mace (Phil); twelve grandsons, and five granddaughters. A service to celebrate John’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service, with the Revs. Steve Durham, and Greg Berkey officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
