Obituary for John Vernon Winfield John Vernon Winfield, 60, former employee of Buckman Laboratories, died Thursday, October 4th. John was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Loyce Winfield of Memphis. John leaves behind his son Wesley Austin Winfield of Tokyo, Japan, his daughter Brooklyn Winfield of Southaven, his siblings Michael Ellen Winfield (Jerry Alleck) of Newport News, VA, Katherine Lee Winfield, SCN of Louisville, KY and Robert Elton Winfield (Daisy Ramos-Winfield) of Miami, FL .

John was a lifelong Catholic, a graduate of Memphis Catholic High School and attended the University of Memphis. He was a lifelong Tiger fan. As his children were growing up John served as coach for many little league baseball teams.

John believed that being a father to his children was the greatest accomplishment of his life and he was always proud of the people they became. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, October 12th at Canale Funeral Directors. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13th at Canale Funeral Directors with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
