OBITUARY John W. Berntsen June 10, 1935 – July 14, 2018 Play Tribute Movie John W. Berntsen, 83, of Holiday City died on July 14, 2018 at his home. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, John lived there until moving to Toms River 20 years ago. He was a bus driver with the NYC Transit Authority for 20 years retiring in 1987.

John was predeceased by his wife Virginia E. Berntsen in 2017. He is survived by four daughters, Virginia and Ralph Notaroberto of Middletown, NJ, Lynne Berntsen of Toms River, Randi and her late husband Philip Riva of Boca Raton, FL and Pamela and James Coventry of Stroudsburg, PA; 10 grandchildren; Michael and Catherine Notarobrto, Nicholas and Nicole Notaroberto, Daniel Notaroberto, John and Elizabeth Cavallo, Paul Cavallo and Jaclyn Corbiscello, Vincent and Julia Cavallo, Christopher Riva, Victoria Riva, Steven Coventry and Rebecca Coventry; and 4 great-grandchildren, Blake Notaroberto, Anthony Cavallo, Mia Cavallo and Luciano Cavallo. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday July 18, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 26 Mule Road Toms River, NJ 08755 where a funeral service will take place at 8:15 PM.
