Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Rev.

Don Fulton officiating Burial will follow in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud. Mr. Hamby was born October 10, 1933 in Rosebud to Luthur and Hattie Wells Hamby. He lived in the Rosebud area all of his life.

He married Barbara Pitrucha on February, 16, 1957 and served in the US Air Force in Korea. He worked for the local telephone company and later worked as a fireman for the City of Temple and Fort Hood. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hamby of Rosebud, three daughters, Cindy Schneider and husband Daniel of Gatesville, Carolyn Knauth and husband David of Goldthwaite, and Linda Willberg and husband Steve of Lott. Six Grandchildren, Kevin Schneider, Kimberly Alsup, Brandon Knauth, Allison Wolf, Catlin Willberg, Hailee Nichols, and five great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to New Salem Baptist Church, P.O. Box 367, Rosebud, Texas 76570 Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
