WEEKS- Funeral services for Johnita Gibson Mills Weeks, 94, will be held 11AM Monday, February 11, 2019 at JONES ROAD BAPTIST CHURCH with Dr. Jeffrey Ray officiating. Interment will follow in JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS CEMETERY. Johnita was born on June 5, 1924 in Red Springs, NC.

She went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2019 in Jacksonville, FL surrounded by her family. Johnita made her career as a Daycare Owner and Operator. She was a long time member of the Cedar Hills Baptist Church and a current member of the Jones Road Baptist Church.

Johnita is strong in her faith, she loved the Lord and her family unconditionally. She has been a long time resident of the St. Catherine Laboure Manor. Johnita was predeceased by her loving husband, Marvin Weeks; parents, Henry Nelson Gibson and Maude Jones Gibson; sister, Sara Louise Gibson; brothers, Thomas Allen Gibson, Charles Nelson Gibson, Earl Jones Gibson and Harold Glenn Gibson; and a granddaughter, Stacy Sikes.

Johnita leaves behind to cherish her memory four children, Linda Bourgeois and her husband Richard, Ric Mills, Diane Toney and her husband Steve and Tammy Sikes and her husband Terry; fourteen grandchildren, thirty six great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and one on the way, many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Johnita touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff of St. Catherine Laboure Manor and Hospice for their genuine concern and care of our loved one.

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to The Jones Road Baptist Church Children’s Building Fund at 2506 Jones Road, Jax, FL 32220. To plant a tree in memory of Johnita Weeks, please visit our Tribute Store.
