Mrs. Johnnie Ruth Irving was born in Leigh, Texas on September 20, 193l to mother Eujanie Archer and father Lynn Boyd May, Sr She was joined in marriage to Gilbert Williams in 1949 and to this union one daughter was born. Later in 1953 she was married to Aubrey Irving.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Antioch Baptist Church in Leigh, Texas. She later moved to Kansas City and became a faithful member of the St. Paul Baptist Church where she served in many capacities. She faithfully served in the New Era District Association as well.

Her Christian walk was exemplary. She was employed at Walker’s Processing Plant as a line processor. She retired in 1985.

She was an excellent cook and was known for her pound cake and potato rolls. Her passion included cooking and caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and shopping with her daughter. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Aubrey Irving, Jr., both parents, her brothers and sisters Lynn Boyd May, Jr., James May, Bernard May, Florine Williams, Earnestine Turner and Gloria Jean Mitchell.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter Annie Ruth Johnson (Moses, Jr.); her grandchildren Moses Johnson, III and Danielle Johnson Smith; her great grandchildren Brazil Paige Johnson, Brook Moses Johnson, Myles Smith and Jason Parson, II; her brother Edd May (Margie) and her sisters Birdell M. Gilbert and Zephyr James and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 8, 2018 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church 3238 Paseo Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64109.
