Obituary for Richard Lee Dickey Richard Lee Dickey Sr.,68, of Leavenworth, KS; loving husband, son, & father passed away Friday, October 26, 2018. Richard was born to Joseph Dickey & Opal (Firestone) Lang on November 15, 1949 in Topeka, Kansas. He had a passion for animals.

He rescued and placed 176 dogs. Richard loved to cook and share his dishes, read, watch movies, and play pranks. He had a compassionate and giving spirit.

Richard graduated Boys Town in 1967 in Omaha, NE. He joined the US Marine Corps. in January of 1968 through March of 1972.

He was a Vietnam veteran. He later worked as a HVAC installer for many years for AB May. Richard was preceded in death by his father Joseph Dickey & his brother Robert “Bobby” Lang.

He is survived by his loving wife Juanita; his mother Opal; 3 brothers Roy Dickey (of GA), Maurice “Buddy” Lang (of Topeka, KS), & John Lang (of Topeka, KS); a sister Linda Dickey (of Topeka, KS); his daughters Richelle Dickey (of Hutchinson, KS), & Trichelle Dickey (of Shawnee, KS); sons Richard Dickey Jr “R2D2” (of Leavenworth, KS), & Joseph Dickey (of Lansing, KS); beloved step-daughter Mary Ann Montgomery (of Co Bluffs, IN); 10 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, & nephews, and numerous other loving family and friends.
