Obituary for John Schlaak John Schlaak, 70, of Wattsburg, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday July 16, 2018. He was born in Erie on June 24, 1948 a son of the late Frank and Frances Runser Schlaak. John graduated from Wattsburg High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a farmer and most recently worked as a machine operater at Plastek. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Nietupski and Ruth Kimmy; and one nephew, Ed Kimmy.

Survivors include one daughter, Michelle Burke of Harborcreek; three grandchildren, Brittany, Angela, and Olivia; one brother, Daniel Schlaak and his wife, Dorothy, of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd. , on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of the memorial service there at 7 p.m..
