John Thomas Troiano, of Wallingford and Delray Beach, FL passed away December 15, 2018 in Yale New Haven Hospital. He is the beloved husband of 64 years of Lorraine A. McGrath Troiano. Born in the Allingtown section of West Haven August 15, 1931, son of the late Michele and Nancy Gaetano Troiano, John was a proud US Army veteran in the 1950’s and was chosen as an honor guard in Washington D.C. and later sent to Germany during the Korean Conflict.

He was all-star pitcher at Hamden High School and was signed to the Detroit Tigers after graduation. John was the co-owner and President of Acorn Glass in Bridgeport for many years. An avid golfer, he and Lorraine were members of Prospect C.C, the Farms C.C., Oak Lane C.C, Oronoque C.C, Mill River C.C and Hunter’s Run in Boynton Beach, FL.

He is survived by his sons; James and John Troiano, sister Jeanette Troiano; grandsons Michael, John and Bryan Troiano, and brother-in-law Bill Doyle. Predeceased by his siblings Antoinette Capelli, Margaret Bailey, Molly Keane, Julia Ardito, and Frances, Michael, James, Nicholas, and Anthony Troiano; his beloved granddaughter Jenna Troiano, and brother-in-law George Juliano. Relatives and friends are invited to attend A Mass of Christian Burial Saturday morning at 10 at Church of the Resurrection 115 Pond Hill Rd in Wallingford.

Burial with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. The Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. is in care of the arrangements.
