John W. McLaughlin of Havertown, Pa and Sea Isle City, N.J. passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019. He was born September 5, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pa. to Rose Anne Elliott and John J. McLaughlin.

Growing up in the Feltonville section of Philadelphia he graduated from North Catholic High School. After high school he served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. On September 8, 1956 he married Joan F. McEntee.

They have made their home in Havertown, Pa. with summers in Sea Isle City, NJ for the majority of their 62 years together. John is a retired Banker having spent many years with Provident Bank.

John was a sports enthusiast with Villanova Basketball as his favorite team. He is the husband of Joan F. (nee McEntee) McLaughlin, father of Marie Maye and Kevin McLaughlin, grandfather of Samantha Maye, brother of Mary Quinn (Dominick), Luke McLaughlin (Jeanne), and the late Catherine Bacon (late Harvey). Family and friends may call 9:00 to 10:30 AM Monday, January 28, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. John Neumann Church, 380 Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr.

Interment St. Denis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Children’s Hospital “CHOP”, 3401 Civic Center Blvd, Phila. , Pa.
