Richard A. Hudak, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2019 in the caring hands of Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse at the age of 68. He was born January 19, 1950 to Joseph Hudak and Helen Elko in Wilkes Barre, PA. After graduating from Coughlin High School, Richard enlisted in the U. S. Marines Corp.

in 1967 where he was honorably discharged in 1973. He was a member of the Smedley D. Butler Marine Corps League, Detachment 741 in Newtown Square, PA, 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus in Wilkes Barre, PA, Past President of the North End Slovak Citizens Club, Past Supreme Assistant Physical Director in the 1980’s and served as Sports Director for Group 7 of the Slovak Catholic Sokols in Wilkes Barre, PA. Richard devoted his life to his family, friends and his love of the automobile business.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Donna M. (nee DiBuonaventuro) and children Rachael M. and Joseph P. and Mia, the dog, his constant companion. He is also survived by his brother, Jerome (Ann) and his nieces and nephew: Shelley, Jeffrey and Stephanie. The family will receive guests on Monday evening, January 14, 2019 between 6:00-8:00 PM at the Funeral Home of John Stretch, 236 E. Eagle Rd.

, Havertown, PA. The family will also receive guests at St. Thomas of Villanova Church (on campus), Tuesday, January 15, 2019 between 9:00-9:45 AM, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment is at St. Denis Cemetery, Havertown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in memory of Richard A. Hudak are made to the Cardiac Amyloidosis Program at Penn Presbyterian.
