OBITUARY Jon R. Chance April 26, 1958 – October 11, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Jon R. Chance passed away on October 11, 2018. He was born on April 26, 1958 and was a caring, generous, and loving man who had a heart of gold. Jon was born in Iowa, but spent most of his life in Oklahoma City.

He graduated with his Bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1985. Jon had a strong love for his family and his dogs, Bear and Pistol. He is survived by his mother, Sharon Porter, four siblings, Joleen Shields and husband Bob, of Yorkville, IL, Janelle Zehren and husband David, of Seminole, OK, Jeff Chance and wife Nancy, of Edmond, OK, and Jackie Bursch and husband Sam, of Oklahoma City, OK, and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces, nephews who adored him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Chance, and his grandparents, Ralph and Fern Thompson, and his beloved dog, Max. A celebration of Jon’s life will be 2 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2018 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, you may make donations in Jon’s honor to the Central OK Humane Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
