Obituary for Jonathan Matthew Finch Jonathan Matthew Finch, 60, of Jackson, Missouri passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born July 5, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Lehman and Dolores (Keithly) Finch.
Jonathan married Regina Ann Clark on May 28, 1994. They have one son, Connor Matthew Finch of the home. He was a graduate of Cape Central High School and received degrees from the University of Missouri in Columbia, in Columbia, Missouri and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Jonathan was an avid researcher and reader. He loved to learn and share knowledge with others so that they may also know about the world. Jonathan was a gifted musician.
He began playing drums at the age of six and became the lead drum instructor for Shivilbine’s Music Store at sixteen giving drum lessons. Jonathan played and performed in many bands, such as Aldeano, Kash Band, and Peach Creek. He, Regina, and Connor lived in St. Louis where he was employed as a computer programmer with AMDOCS.
They returned to Cape Girardeau in 2009 and Jonathan was an employee of Five Star Trucking, Inc. Jonathan considered his greatest accomplishments was his family and being a loving husband and father. Loving survivors include his wife, Regina Ann Finch and son, Connor Matthew Finch of Jackson, two brothers, Rock Finch (Rachel), Dan Finch (Sally), and two sisters Christy Dubs of Cape Girardeau, and Jan Finch of Texas. Also, two step siblings, Nadine Hampton (Tom) of Texas and Charles Finch (Linda) of California.
Nieces and nephews Carrie Woelk (Leland), Molly Yingling (Daniel), Graham Finch (Stacia), Emily Finch, William, John and Jacob McFarland, and 5 great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his father in-law and mother in-law, Allen and Ruth Ann Clark of Glen Allen, Missouri. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, December 27 at Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Jackson, MO.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Friday, December 28, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Kimberly Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Allen Cemetery, Glen Allen, Missouri.
