Obituary for Bill Huey Charles William “Bill” Huey, 73 of Cape Girardeau, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 at Saint Francis Medical Center. He was born January 14, 1945 in Cape Girardeau to the late Thomas and Justine (Hengst) Huey, and he grew up in the Egypt Mills area. Bill served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967 in the 8th Engineer Battalion 1st Cavalry Division, where he worked on heavy machinery and earned several medals, including a Marksman Rifle medal.

He and Judy Keller were married September 14, 1968 at Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville. Bill worked for Erlbacher Materials and farmed in west Cape Girardeau County, but spent many years working for Schneider Equipment Company/Baker Implement. He was a dedicated volunteer for over 30 years at the SEMO District Fair.

He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his friends and family, no matter the task. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville. Loving survivors include his wife of 50 years, Judy of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Staci (David) Kombrink of Saint Charles, Missouri; granddaughter, Emma Kombrink of Saint Charles, Missouri; brother, George “Dude” (Schirley Jo) Huey of Cape Girardeau; step-brothers, Glen Nelson Floyd of O’Fallon, Missouri and Charles Floyd of Delta, Missouri; brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Don G. Huey; and a step-brother, Walter Floyd. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville. Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Rev.

Wayne Schwiesow officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Zion Lutheran Church or the Missouri Veterans Home.
