Obituary for Charlotte Ann Coomer Charlotte Ann “Sue” Coomer, 73, of St. Mary, Missouri and formerly of Scott City, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau. She was born January 6, 1945 in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Clarence A. “Slim” and Evelyn Smith May. She was raised by her mother and her stepfather, Glenn S. Johnson.

She attended grade school at Marquette School and graduated from College High School in Cape Girardeau in 1963. Sue and James A. “Drew” Coomer were married December 31, 1971. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2008.

She worked at Purple Crackle, Kroger and Southeast Hospital 28 years in the cafeteria and emergency room, retiring in November 2009. Her hobbies were playing Bingo, cheering on the Cardinals and spending time with her granddaughters. Survivors include one son, Todd (Valerie) Coomer and their children, Macy and Mylie of Cookeville, Tennessee; special life partner and caregiver, Gerold Burroughs of St. Mary; one brother, Ronnie May of French Village, Missouri; two half-brothers, Sam (Voyann Smith) Johnson and Steve Johnson, both of Cape Girardeau; one half-sister, Nancy Ruth Burroughs of Arnold, Missouri; two stepsisters, Glennetta Houck of Cape Girardeau and JoAnn Nemeth of El Cajon, California; and a host of other loving friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one stepsister, Sally Johnson Lovell; three half-sisters, Margie May Privitt, Sarah Frances Fischer and Margie May Gore; two stepbrothers, Thomas and Dick Johnson. Friends may call 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Friday, December 14, 2018 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Jim Woeltje officiating.
