Obituary for JoAnna Dee Peek JoAnna Dee Peek, 87, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at Southeast Hospital. She was born January 9, 1931 on the family farm, Rosedale Farm which has been in the family since 1863. Her parents were the late Earl and Evelyn (Hawn) Sachse.

Earl passed away and Evelyn later married Adolph Borgfield who adopted and raised her and her sister. JoAnna and John Ambrose Peek, Jr. were married March 23, 1958 at Grace United Methodist Church, Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death August 15, 2007.

She worked for Rau Peach Orchards in Cape Girardeau and for Dr. William O.L. Seabaugh’s Cape La Croix Farm. She was a project leader in the Young American 4-H Club for many years. She was also a lover of cats, dogs, horses and watching the wildlife outside the back window.

She leaves behind two cats, Fred and Snowflake; two grand dogs, Teagan and Jaynee. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Survivors include daughters, Sandy Sue Peek and Kandy Lue Peek, of Cape Girardeau; her three nephews, Alan (Lisa) Strack of Apopka, Florida, Jay (Nancy) Strack of San Antonio, Texas and Jo Wayne (Bonnie) Strack of Shawneetown, Missouri; several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, adopted father; husband; sister and brother-in-law, Dortha and Harold Strack. Visitation will be Monday, December 10, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ford and Sons Funeral Home- Jackson. Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev.

Dave Conley and Rev. Dr. Barry Winders officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery, Jackson.
