Obituary for Darlene A. Jeffries Darlene A. Jeffries, 79, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, formerly of Cairo, Illinois, died Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau. She was born April 11, 1939 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Vernon W. and Ocy Miller Nye. She and H. Larry Jeffries were married in 1965 at Cairo, Illinois.

He preceded her in death on September 7, 1998. She enjoyed needle pointing and sewing. She was a member of First Church of God in Cairo, Illinois and later attended The Presbyterian Church in Cairo.

Survivors include her one sister, Lois Roberts of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Rev. Dale (Dorothy) Nye of Anderson, Indiana; and nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother-in-law, Jake Roberts.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Friday, December 14, 2018 at Ford & Sons Sprigg St. Chapel in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City, Illinois.
